Sleep tracking apps and devices can’t help cure your insomnia, but maybe an organic mattress can. From what we read these apps might make it worse. People are waking up in the middle of the night looking at their apps. The pros tell them to go back to sleep. Sort of like everybody checking there e mail in the middle of the night. Get yourself on an organic mattress now. These apps are in the experimental stage so don’t let them do the experimenting on you. So your sleep deprived. Who isn’t? People have tried all kinds of gadgets, including Fitbit, Bose sleep aid ear plugs, with some results, but nothing to write home to mom about. In fact all the data shows little progress with these apps. Apps don’t make people healthier. Sleep works like this. Light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep. REM is our favorite cause we dream. But Rem can’t be tracked with the apps so say the pros.

So what happens once you collect your data? The pros say the app does not offer advice, and did not know for sure if it was accurate. You’re in the middle of an experiment remember. An experiment. Yikes.

The pros say if you want better sleep, go to bed at the same time each night, and wake up the same time each day. Ask yourself “Do I feel refreshed”. Don’t get too deep into the apps.
